Or, as we like to simply call them, walking boards.

Running Boards smallest outdoor advertising format, but by no means its least impactful. There’s more to walking boards than meets the eye.

Let us start with the…

How?

This 1.4m x 0.5m board is placed on the back of one of our friendly promotional staff (just like a giant backpack really). Here the magic of legs comes into play. Their feet were made for walking (so were everyone’s I guess) and that’s just what they’ll do…our promo staff are going to walk while advertising for you.

Okay, I’ll stop with the cheesy sayings.

Anyway, as is the case with any of our formats, all we would need you to do is provide us with the creative as well as instructions on where you would like the boards to go.

That leads us into the…

Why?

There are a few whys for this format.

Firstly, they are designed to allow you to go places that most outdoor advertising formats can’t. Blocked off street for pedestrians heading into an event? Walking boards can help you get there. Want to navigate down the narrow alleyways of the CBD? Again, our walking human billboards. Have a specific message you want to directly pass onto pedestrians, while also having your brand name up in lights? You guessed it, walking boards.

On the subject of ‘up in lights’, the boards actually have built in lights, for all your evening and night-time needs.

Basically, the overall point I’m trying to make is that walking human billboards are a great outdoor advertising option’s for hard to access places…as well as easy to access.

Other things to note:

I’m now going to list off some answers to the general questions we get about walking boards.

How many boards do I get?

The boards start off in a pair, who stick together throughout the day. You are more than welcome to add on additional boards to suit your campaign brief. For example, you want to target two different suburbs on the same day, then we would recommend having two pairs of walking boards sent out for your campaign.

How long do they go out for each day?

No matter how many you end up with, they go out for a standard four-hour on-site media day (just to clarify, these four hours are consecutive). Although, if you wish to do longer media days, we can certainly oblige.

Are the boards heavy?

We often get clients who are concerned for the health of our walkers, with those big boards on their back. Fear not, they may look heavy, but they are quite comfortable and easy to wear once you’ve put one on. In saying this, our walkers do need (and appreciate) short breaks here and there throughout the day!

Are flyers and sampling allowed?

What’s that? You want to know if human billboards can hand out flyers? They certainly can, although, as is the case with a lot of things in life, there is a ‘but.’ Each council area has their own rules and regulations surrounding this, some allow it, some don’t, while others require a permit – we can always check to find out for you.

Can they hand out samples? Like above, they can, but it depends on the location. It’s also important to note that all food and drink samples need to be in enclosed packaging e.g. a bag of chips would be fine, but an apple would not be okay – contrary to what health experts say!

Any other questions?

Hopefully, you have a better understanding on walking boards, if not, I apologise.

Regardless, please feel free to reach out to any of our team if there’s anything else you would like to hear about outdoor advertising.

Thanks for stopping by.

They say great things come in small sizes…and that’s why we have walking human billboards!
